So you've heard us (or somebody) talking about these "virtual event" things, and you're curious enough to have ended up here. The idea of manning a sponsor booth from the comfort of your own desk, favorite coffee mug in hand, seems way more relaxing than schlepping a whole setup to a distant land every month.
But, what does it really look like to sponsor a virtual event? In this post, we'll take a look at how the folks at Visually set up their presence at our October 2015 virtual conference. When conference attendees first logged in, here's what the space looked like:
- Attendees could click on the Exhibit Hall sign to visit all sponsor booths.
- They could also go directly to the Resource Center and download all sorts of fascinatingsponsor content.
- Global navigation between the Lobby, Auditorium, Exhibitor Directory, MProfs Room, Networking Lounge, and Resource Center, as well as the ability to view all Attendees, Chat with anyone, or view their Briefcase of saved resources.
- Sponsor logos (with links to their booths) rotated at the bottom throughout the show - here visually used one slot for their logo and another to talk about their giveaway of a free pair of custom Nikes.
What did the other areas of the conference look like, you ask? Why, I have some screen shots of those for you too:
Clockwise from top left, we've got the Auditorium (where attendees went to listen to our speakers), the Exhibit Hall (where all sponsor booths were easily accessed), the Resource Center (which provided access to all sponsor materials and downloads), and the Networking Lounge (where you'll always catch a few of us engaging in lively conversations with attendees).
In each of these areas, you can see Visually's logo and giveaway notice rotating in the bottom right corner, along with the other sponsors. For best practices for how to handle your booth traffic, chatting with attendees, and nurturing your leads after the show, check out this post.
On the left was Visually's super-hip booth setup, all dressed up in their brand colors and custom plants. Actually, I'm not sure about the custom plants. But if that's something you're really into I'm sure we could work it out. And on the right, you can see what their expanded resources section looked like with items for attendees to download.
And so ends our tour! Visually did a great job drumming up extra booth traffic by getting creative with their giveaway. I hope this has answered a few of your questions about Virtual Events, but if you have any more don't hesitate to throw them at a Client Hero.
